When I whine about my weight gain
You never ever share the pain
When I say my friends are all slim
You question, why I don’t hit the gym
When I ask you how I look in a dress
You never lift your head and just say yes
What was the yes for, I ask?
To look up once is not a big task
I had a new hair style the other day
It was different from how I had it everyday
How come you didn’t find any difference?
I would say it is nothing but indifference
Our three year old spots the slightest change in me
You are thirty years old who can’t even see
This morning when I was looking all dull and pale
You looked at me for a while and said I look fair
That was the best thing I heard from you
But I am quite not sure all that was true
My cheeks were red and my eyes shady
Out of no where you call me my fair lady!

ReplyDeleteI didnt catch this one in Sulekha :)
Thanks Bindia :-)
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you a lil flash back!
My husband before leaving to work one morning said that my complexion has improved and I looked fairer than usual :-)
That morning I woke up with a bad headache, my cheeks were red with rashes or some thing, my eyes were red and I was looking horrible :-)
He left to work and I wrote this poem in like 20mts :-) Those days used to be fun, I used to write about anything and everything that happened in my day to day life at Sulekha!

Vijju
